MALCOLM RILEY -DIRECTOR

Malcom Riley is a recognised specialist in Property Management – a former Queensland REIQ Property Manager of the Year and current chairman of the REIQ Queensland Property Management Committee.
Malcom's experience and success during more than 20 years in the real estate industry have also made him a sought-after guest speaker, not only within Australia but abroad.

Having started his real estate career as a salesperson more than two decades ago, Malcom opened his own business TNQ Rentals, 18 years ago. Located in Cairns, Far North Queensland, TNQ Rentals specialises in Property Management. The business that was started from zero properties is now thriving, and boasts an extensive and constantly growing rent roll. That success is due to Malcom's dedication and hard work.

Malcom's list of achievements is significant and growing. A member of the REIQ Queensland Property Committee since 1999, he was elected chairman in 2004 – making him the only REIQ Committee Chair located outside of South East Queensland.

He is a former REIQ Cairns Property Manager of the Year, and more recently Queensland Property Manager of the Year. He is also a Certificate 4 Trainer and Assessor who now shares his industry expertise, by training property managers on behalf of the REIQ.

Malcom has spoken at property management expos in major regional cities, including John McGraths ARPM at the Gold Coast, the Queensland Property Management Conference and FARPM (Florida Association of Residential Property Managers in Miami).

Malcom is a hands-on property manager who is passionate about his industry. His business is based on service to landlords and tenants, and he attributes his success to a passion to improve, a constant thirst to learn, and a “never give up” attitude.

KARIN RILEY -DIRECTOR

Like Malcom, Karin is a Co – Director of TNQ Rentals. Karin has actively been involved in TNQ Rentals since its conception 20 years ago .Initially she worked part time whilst bringing up their two children however for the past 12 yrs Karin has been fully involved in the day to day operations. Karin is a fully licensed Real Estate Agent who actively participates in the management of the Rent Roll. Karin also handles the sale enquiries from the rent roll. Although TNQ specializes in Property Management we do offer as an added service to our clients the ability to sell their property.

CARMEL SHERMAN -SENIOR PROPERTY MANAGER

Carmel came to TNQ in 2001 after initially starting her working career as a chef and in the later years hospitality. This experience has equipped her well with the skills to manage a busy working environment. Carmel is the Senior Property Manager for TNQ Rentals and when Malcom or Karin are unavailable Carmel is very capable of handling any of your enquiries.

CHELSEA RILEY – PROPERTY MANAGER 

Chelsea has been working at TNQ Rentals since April 2009 but without realizing it probably most of her life. She is the daughter of the two Directors Malcom and Karin Riley. After completing Year 12 in 2008 she took up an exchange programme in the United States for 4 months and returned in April '09. Chelsea then commenced working at TNQ Rentals on a full time basis as a Receptionist / Rental Assistant and completed the necessary qualifications for this. In 2010 Chelsea reduced her hours to part time as she has commenced Full time studies at J.C.U Cairns doing a Bachelo or Business majoring in management.

 SCOTT DOWD- PROPERTY MANAGER

   After serving 23 years in uniform, and looking for a new challenge, Scott undertook courses in real estate and, having an interest in property management, chose this area in which undertake a new challenge in life.

Having owned property in Cairns for over 10 years and elsewhere in Australia for over 20, Scott has an avid interest in the competent and professional management of his properties and aspires to achieve the same for TNQ Rentals clients.

Having a knowledge of the Cairns region, understanding the requirements of owners and the needs of tenants is a constant challenge day to day and one in which Scott enjoys.

JESS SKINNER - TRAINEE PROPERTY MANAGER

 Completing year 12 in  2009 Jess initially commenced a University qualification in Further Education. After only a few months it became evident to her that this was not the path she wanted to follow and withdrew from this career path . Working as a casual employee in Retail shops during her school years she continued this until September 2011 when she applied for a traineeship with our company. Showing a keen interest in Property Management TNQ is looking forward to assisting and working with Jess as she progresses to become a fully qualified Property Manager.

KRISLYN GIBSON - RECEPTIONIST

 Ater completing several years working in the remote area of Groote Eylandt Krislyn decided it was time to return to the civilization of Cairns to assist in the completion of her 2 daughters education. Her experience is quite varied from driving trucks , to accounts receivable but the day to day task of dealing with a variety of people has assisted and been a huge benefit for the position of Receptionist in our busy Real Estate office .
